Lunch was a very tasty Smoked Salmon Brioche Roll, with Kumato, Capers and Shallot.

  • Capers and Shallot add 25c per serve.

A very tasty roll for $2.21 per serve.

Dinner

Since it was Fishy Friday we served Smoked Trout and Avocado Tacos.

  • We shared a 3.5oz can of Smoked Trout for $1.75 per serve
  • The Avocado came from a friend
  • The Tortillas were $3.57 and we used half, or 90c per serve
  • Add 30c for Coleslaw Mix
  • Add 30c for Sour Cream
  • Add 10c for Chipotle
  • Add 10c for Pickled Onion.

These were surprisingly good for $3.45 per serve.

Nov 29: Beer Bratwurst with Sauerkraut and Garlic Sage Spätzle

Today we finished the Soutzoukakia with Kumato on a Ciabatta.

It was not the weather for Salad, so we paired our Beer Bratwurst with prepared Spätzle, a.k.a. German Mac and Cheese!

Nov 28: Folded Eggs on Avocado Toast

Today we had a Ramen Noodle Bowl from Trader Joe’s for $1.69 per serve, that wasn’t very good. We didn’t finish them.

Dinner

A simple Meatless Monday meal of Folded Eggs on Avocado Toast.

  • Add 30c for Chili Onion Crisp or Sriracha.

A quite tasty meal for $1.65 per serve.

Nov 27: Braised Lamb Shoulder Chops with Rosemary and Juniper Berries on a Wild Rice Mix

We shared a Mushroom and Truffle Flatbread from Trader Joe’s for $2.25 per serve.

Dinner

The cooling weather brings us back to soup and stew season and tonight we Braised Lamb Shoulder Chops with Rosemary and Juniper Berries with Purple Potatoes on a Wld Rice Mix.

  • The Bone Broth was $2.99 or $1.50 per serve

  • Rosemary came from our garden

Nov 26: Chicken Fried Rice

Lunch

For lunch we shared a Ruben with Steak Fries and Coleslaw from The Country Deli for $14.27 per serve. This “serving for one” is a generous serve for two in our world.

Dinner

We planned on having sous video Shrimp on Chicken Fried Rice, but the discovery that there was no Shrimp in the freeze left us with a frozen Chicken Fried Rice for $3.49 or $1.74 per serve.

Nov 23: Buckwheat Soba Noodles in Ginger Miso Broth with Bok Choy and Pork Belly

We finished a Ciabatta in the oven, and heated some of the remaining Soutzoukakia to stuff in the Ciabatta with Garlic Spread and Kumato.

A return to the Ramen with Pork Belly, tonight with Ginger Miso Broth with Bok Choy and Buckwheat Soba Noodles.

  • The Pork Belly is $6.49 or $3.25 per serve
  • The Bok Choy was $1.49 and we used half, or 38c per serve
  • The soba buckwheat noodles were $3.39 and we used ⅓ or 57c per serve
  • The Ginger Miso Broth is $1.99 or $1.00 per serve.

We managed to cook the Pork Belly perfectly, so that the fat was rendered but the meat not dried. It was a pretty good meal for $8.07 per serve.
