Dec 11: Sous Vide Shrimp on Vegetable Fried Rice

Lunch

For lunch we finished the Tomahawk Stead as a French Dip.

  • The Ciabatta is 58c
  • Add 70c per serve for Au Ju.

A very tasty sandwich for $10.58 per serve.

Dinner

  • The Vegetable Fried Rice was $2.99 or $1.50 per serve
  • 1 lb of shrimp was $1o.99 on sale,  or and we used half $2.75 per serve.

A tasty meal for $4.25, although we felt the Vegetable version of the Fried Rice was a little to heavy with the Edamame to be really good.

Dec 10: Smoked Salmon Avocado Toast with Folded Eggs

Lunch

For lunch we ventured out and picked up a Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich with Fries for for $11.85 per serve.

Dinner

For Fishy Friday we slipped the last of our Smoked Salmon on to Avocado Toast and topped with Folded Eggs.

  • The Italian Bread is 38c per serve
  • The Fuentes Avocado was give to us by a friend
  • The Smoked Salmon adds 59c per serve
  • Add 76c for two Pastured Eggs.

The small amount of Smoked Salmon flavored the whole dish, which was very good for $1.83 per serve.

Dec 9: Creamy Garlic Mushroom Soup

Lunch

We decided to take some of the remaining Tomahawk Steak and make a Sandwich with Béarnaise and Tabouli.

  • Dave’s Killer Bread is 74c per serve
  • The Tomahawk Steak was $55.83, and we used another ⅓, or $9.30 per serve
    • The Tabouli was $2.99 and we used about half, or 75c per serve
    • The Béarnaise adds another 67c per serve.

An expensive, but very, very good Steak Sandwich for $11.36 per serve.

Dinner

We had a lot of the Garlic Butter Mushrooms remaining so we added a Creamy Mushroom Soup! We served with Italian Toast with Garlic Spread.

  • The Garlic Butter Mushrooms add 93c per serve
  • Creamy Mushroom Soup for $4.49, or $2.25 per serve
  • Add 38c for Italian Bread
  • Add 45c for Garlic Spread.

A tasty soup for $4.01 per serve.

Dec 8: Prime Rib, Garlic Butter Mushrooms and Tabouli

Lunch

In the absence of any other suggestions we repeated our favorite Panini with Speck and Arugula.

  • The Ciabatta is 58c per serve
  • Arugula adds 40c per serve
  • Olive Oil adds 30c per serve.

Always a great sandwich for $3.28 per serve.

Dinner

It was Foodie Philip’s birthday and we continued the tradition of a ‘Prime Rib,’ which we do with a Tomahawk Steak. The Steak was cooked in the reverse sear method where the low temperature cook brings the level of doneness required, than a hard sear at the end give the color.

A most enjoyable meal with a perfectly medium rare Steak and great sides. Truly a birthday dinner for $11.05 per serve. In a Steakhouse it would be closer to $60 per serve!

Dec 7: Falafel/Gyro Meat on Buttered Rice

Lunch

We had Giant Baked Beans on Italian Toast topped with a slice of Gouda.

  • Garlic Spread adds 45c per serve
  • The Giant Baked Beans are $1.99 or $1.00 per serve.

A favorite because it tastes good, for $2.17 per serve.

Dinner

We swapped our “date night” for tonight as tomorrow is Foodie Philip’s birthday, and picked up a Falafel on Buttered Rice for Foodie Greg and Gyro Meat on Buttered Rice for Foodie Philip, for $15.63 per serve with tax and tip.

Dec 6: Hambagu with Japanese Sweet Potato Mash

Lunch

For lunch we had fresh Shoyu Ramen with Coleslaw Mix.

  • The Shoyu Ramen were $2.25 per serve
  • The Coleslaw Mix adds 30c per serve.

The Noodles had great texture, while the Broth was a little bland. Overall quite good for $2.55 per serve.

Dinner

Tonight we heated the rest of the Hambāgu and created the sauce to go with it and served with Japanese Sweet Potato Mash.

  • The Hambāgu is $2.94 per serve
  • The Japanese Sweet Potato was $2.75 or $1.37 per serve
  • Add 40c for Sour Cream and Butter.

The Hambāgu was excellent, with a very light texture, and the overall meal was pretty good for $4.71 per serve.

Dec 5: Lasagne Rolls with Marinara Sauce

Lunch

We shared an Eggplant Flatbread for $4.19, or $2.10 per serve.

Dinner

Dinner was based around prepared Lasagne Rolls, baked with a prepared Marinara Sauce to make it Meatless Monday.

  • The Marinara Sauce was $1.89 or 90c per serve
  • The Lasagna Rolls were $3.89 and we served ⅓ or $1.30 per serve
  • Parmesan adds 89c per serve.

The Lasagne Rolls were just okay, and we wouldn’t do them again, which made the meal just okay, for $3.09 per serve.

Dec 4: Saltimbocca with Arugula Parmesan Salad and Roasted Mini Potatoes

Lunch

Since today was ‘Italian Day’ we started with a Speck and Arugula Panini.

  • Olive Oil adds 30c per serve.

As always a tasty meal for $3.28 per serve.

Dinner

Continuing with the Italian theme, dinner was Saltimbocca with Arugula Parmesan Salad and Roasted Mini Potatoes.

  • Arugula adds 45c per serve
  • Add 80c for Shaved Parmesan
  • Add 50c for Balsamic Vinegar and Olive Oil
  • Add 40c for Baby Potatoes.

An excellent and very tasty meal for $6.25 per serve.

Dec 3: Hambagu Hamburger

Lunch

For lunch we revisited the Curry Rice, but today with Chicken Katzu for $38.00 or $19.00 per serve.

Dinner

We cooked our Japanese style Hambugu, but tonight served it as a ‘Steak Sandwich’ with Marinara Sauce and Arugula.

  • The Hambāgu was $2.94 per serve
  • The Brioche Buns are 58c per serve
  • Add 10c for Arugula
  • Add 25c for a smear of Marinara Sauce.

The Hambāgu has a very light and smooth texture, thanks to the Cream Cheese, and makes an excellent Burger for $3.87 per serve.
