Mar 18: Supermarket Sushi; Reuben Casserole

Lunch

After the disappointing sushi during the week we opted for an upgraded version from the in-store provider at Whole Foods Porter Ranch, which lived up to our high expectations, especially the black rice Firecracker Roll.

Lunch today cost an average of $9.34 per serve.

Dinner

Our final servings of the reuben casserole were just as good as the first, and was $3.80 per serve.

Foodie Greg had purchases a novelty item: Ceres passionfruit juice and challenged Philip to “make a cocktail with it.” Here’s the recipe

  • 2 oz gin
  • 1.5 oz lemon or lime juice (we had meyer lemons, which are a little sweet for this application)
  • 3 oz of the passionfruit juice, which is sweetened with pear juice (and I’d rather it wasn’t)
  • And finally top of with a little ginger beer.

Yum!
